6KFWBW 6-inch URO Wool blue-white cutting pad

The 6KFWBW combines blue and white knitted wool with a short 0.25-inch pile for controlled defect removal over larger panel areas. It is more aggressive than the KFWY polishing grade, while its blue 0.5-inch foam interface and beveled edge help manage contact, heat and contour transitions.

Cutting characteristics

The short 0.25-inch pile produces a controlled working face for correction of heavier defects than the yellow KFWY polishing pad. The six-inch format increases coverage on broad panels while the foam interface provides compliance.

Use a measured test section to determine whether the cut is appropriate for the coating. Select compound and pass count to reach the defect-removal target without creating unnecessary haze or heat.

Machine and plate matching

The 6.25-inch loop diameter must be centered on the compatible plate. Confirm the tool and backing-plate rating, then observe pad rotation and stability before increasing speed or pressure.

Working practice

Clean the short pile regularly because compacted residue reduces cut consistency and can raise temperature. Use separate pads for substantially different compounds or paint conditions to prevent cross-contamination.

Keep the face as level as panel geometry allows, reduce loading near edges and stop the tool before inspection or cleaning. Replace pads with torn foam, loose fibers or weakened attachment.
