It is \nintended to be used on top of a standard or \nmagnetic MultiPrep™ platen when standard \nplatens do not provide a flat or smooth enough \nsurface due to grooves and/or rough surfaces \nfrom manufacturing. Following standard \nalignment of the MultiPrep™, the glass plate \ncan be used accordingly: \nPlain Glass Support Plate \n1. Place the glass plate on top of a dry standard\nMultiPrep™ platen.\n2. Adhere the glass directly to the platen by\nwrapping electrical tape around the perimeter\nof both the glass and the platen (Figure 2).\n3. Place diamond lapping film on the glass plate\nand use it as normal.\nMagnetic Glass Support Plate \n1. Place a magnetic glass support plate on a\nmagnetic MultiPrep™ platen (Figure 3).\n2. Place diamond lapping film on the glass plate\nand use it as normal.\n3. Tape and other adhesives are not necessary.\nLapping with a Glass Support Plate \nThe glass plate can be used as a lapping surface in conjunction with diamond \ncompounds or diamond lapping films and a designated polishing lubricant. The plate is \nhard and does not compress, allowing for tighter edge tolerances and better flatness \nthan compressible polishing cloths. \nProduct Numbers \n69-10030\nGlass Support Plate, Plain, 8&quot; \n69-10030M Glass Support Plate, Magnetic Back, 8&quot;\nFigure 2: Electrical tape is wrapped \naround both the glass and the platen. \nFigure 3: Magnetic glass plate \non a magnetic platen \nFlexible Ferromagnetic Backing \nMagnetic Base \nFigure 1: Glass support plate (top), platen \n(bottom, not included with purchase) \n</pre></details>",
