It \nautomatically sections materials at high speeds, \nincreasing sample throughput. \nThe PLC-based system controls sample feed rate, \ndistance and force. Closed-loop monitoring of the \nblade and table optimizes cutting performance \nand minimizes blade breakage by automatically \nadjusting the feed rate when variations in sample \nmaterial or thickness are detected. \nWhen sectioning is complete, the table \nautomatically retracts the sample to the home \nposition and stops blade rotation and coolant flow. \nThe unique fixturing system allows for easy \nchanges between the T-slot table and the \nX-axis tables. Both table types offer a variety of \nconvenient table-specific fixture options. \nTables, accessories and consumables are \nsold separately.\nUnparalleled Fixturing Versatility\nThe unique design of the TechCut 5x™ allows the user to quickly and \neasily switch between T-slot and X-axis indexing tables.\nThe greater surface area of the T-slot table is more suitable for \nlarger samples, while indexing tables provide quantitative X-axis \npositioning between the sample and blade for precision sectioning \napplications.\nThis flexibility enables quick breakdown and setup of fixturing when \ndealing with a wide range of sample shapes and sizes.\nItem Description\n5-5750-ER TechCut 5x™ with External Reservoir, \n100–240 V\n5-5750-IR \tTechCut 5x™ with Internal Reservoir, \n100–240 V\n5-5750-FT TechCut 5x™ with Water Flow-\nThrough, 100–240 V \n(see page 8 for coolant system details)\n\n\nPage 3\n3\nDuring the cutting process, adaptive force control optimizes \nthe feed rate throughout the sectioning process, allowing the \noperator to select force (low, medium or high) or feed rate as \nthe preference for control. \nAs thicker or harder regions of the sample pass through the \nblade, resistance will increase. The adaptive control lowers the \nfeed rate as it passes through this region and raises it when it \ndetects less resistance. If the closed-loop monitoring system \nsenses abnormal motor loads or blade binding, the table is \nretracted and the cutting cycle is stopped, reducing blade \nbinding/breakage.\nCut depth can be set up to 8"/200 mm in 0.01"/0.2 mm \nincrements. Feed rate is programmable from 0.01" to 5" (0.2 \nmm to 125 mm) per minute.\nAutomatic Sample Feed\nThe hand wheel is utilized to slowly feed delicate samples \ninto the blade to minimize damage, allowing the user to \n“feel” the sectioning operation. It is also convenient for blade \ndressing. When not in use, the folding black knob rests inside \nthe wheel hub to avoid entanglement. \nHand Wheel Sample Positioning\nThe included 2" (50 mm) and 3" (75 mm) flanges \naccommodate blades between 3" (75 mm) and 8" (200 mm) \nin diameter, with either a 0.5" (12.7 mm) or 1.25" (32 mm) ID \narbor hole.\nDual Purpose Blade Flanges\nWhen reversed, the outer flange features a step-arbor \nto allow use of blades with a 1.25" (32 mm) arbor hole.\nJoystick Sample Positioning\nThe joystick, with three programmable speed ranges and \nproportional control, allows the user to position the table \nquickly and accurately while observing the sample as it \nmoves into position. \n\n\nPage 4\n4\nLarge Cutting Compartment\nWith a 5" (125 mm) clearance to the left-hand side of the blade \nand 6" (150 mm) to the right side, long and/or large parts are easily \naccommodated. \n \nThe T-slot table provides 2" (50 mm) of clearance beneath the \nspindle, and the X-axis tables provide 3" (75 mm) of clearance.\n \n \n5" (125 mm)\n6" (150 mm)\n2" (50 mm)\n \nLED illumination inside the cover allows easy observation of \nthe sectioning process through the large viewing windows.\nLED Illumination\nWash-Down Hose\nThe wash-down hose is used to clean the cutting compartment. \nA quick-connect fitting on the end of the coolant nozzle bridge \nallows the hose to be connected for temporary use and \ndisconnected for storage. \nBlade Dressing\nLoaded/clogged blades can easily be dressed to resume \noptimal cutting performance. The quick-slide vise or vertical \nclamp is used to hold the dressing stick, which is then \nmanually fed into the blade using the hand wheel.\nThe 7" color LCD touchscreen is used to control all functions \nand is extremely easy to navigate, allowing greater efficiency \namong users. \nLCD Touchscreen\nEasy Blade Changes\nA spindle lock button holds the rotating hub in place while \na specially designed wrench loosens the retaining nut. This \nallows blades to be quickly and easily changed.\n\n\nPage 5\n5\nFlat samples up to 0.25" (6 mm) thick can easily be secured \nto the T-slot table with these height adjustable clamps. \nItem Description\n5-5350 Table Clamp (Pk/4)\nTable Clamp\nQuick-Slide Vise\nVertical Adjusting Clamp\nThe vertical adjusting clamp can be positioned in any \norientation throughout the T-slots in the table.
