5KFWHS 5-inch URO Wool short-pile heavy-cut pad
The 5KFWHS uses a 0.5-inch short pile to retain heavy correction while improving face stability and control, especially on long-throw dual-action machines. It shares the five-inch format and blueberry foam interface of the long-pile KFWH but responds with less fiber movement.

Why select the short pile
Shorter wool fibers produce a more stable working face than the 0.75-inch KFWH. This supports consistent contact and balance on long-throw dual-action polishers while keeping the pad in the heavy-correction class.
Select it when the long-pile pad shows too much lateral movement, when the panel geometry requires precise control or when a repeatable contact patch matters more than the extra compliance of longer fibers.
Machine setup
Center the pad on the compatible five-inch backing plate and verify free rotation before touching the panel. Use a test area to set compound amount, tool speed, section size and pass count for the coating condition.

Process control and care
Monitor correction and finish together: a heavy-cut wool step may require a subsequent foam or softer-wool refining stage. Brush or blow out residue only with the machine stopped and by an approved cleaning method.
Retire the pad if fibers shed abnormally, the foam is torn, the beveled edge loses shape or the backing no longer holds securely. Avoid dry operation and excessive pressure that can raise surface temperature.
