5KFWL 5-inch URO Wool soft-cut polishing pad
The 5KFWL is a gentler natural-wool pad for refining after compounding or carrying out controlled light correction. Its blue foam interface and 0.75-inch pile are tuned for a softer cut and cleaner finish than the heavy-cut KFWH and KFWHS variants.

Position in a polishing sequence
Use the pad when a heavy compound step has removed deeper defects but the surface still needs wool-based refinement, or for a controlled light-cut pass where a heavy wool pad would be unnecessarily aggressive.
The blue foam interface softens the pad response, while the long pile provides compliance over curvature. Confirm that the chosen polish has enough lubrication and finishing capacity for the paint system.
Tool compatibility
Center the 5.25-inch loop face on the backing plate and maintain a stable working angle. On edges and convex panels, reduce pressure and keep the pad moving so the beveled perimeter does not concentrate heat.

Finish checks and maintenance
Inspect the test area under suitable lighting after residue removal. If haze remains, refine with a finishing pad rather than extending the soft-cut step until the surface becomes unnecessarily hot.
Clean wool frequently to preserve fiber movement and consistent compound delivery. Store the pad dry and uncompressed, and replace it if foam separation or loop-back deterioration affects centering or retention.
