Overhead Monorail Machines | Wheelabrator
Overhead monorail blast machines suspend parts from hooks or carriers and move them through the blast zone. Rotating or oscillating motion reduces blast shadows and makes the format suitable for forged, heat-treated, welded and die-cast components that cannot be tumbled.

Suspended-part handling
Available track layouts include straight, loop and Y-track monorails with manual or automatic operation. Parts may be carried by manual hooks, motorised drives or chain conveyors.
Crane and robotic loading options support heavier or automated production flows.
Treatment duties
The documented process range includes descaling, deburring, corrosion and scale removal, preparation before coating and shot peening for fatigue resistance.
Suspension keeps individual workpieces separated, making the machine appropriate where part-on-part contact is unacceptable.
Coverage strategy
Rotating and oscillating part motion exposes faces that would otherwise be shielded from the blast stream. Motion programming and wheel placement must be coordinated to minimize shadow regions.
Representative fixtures and parts should be tested for hook shadow, cavity coverage and stable orientation.
Wear and recovery systems
Cabinets use manganese or hardened-steel linings and wear-resistant components. Abrasive recovery can combine magnetic separation with air-wash cleaning, alongside integrated dust collection.
The equipment can be integrated into existing lines and expanded with additional automation, subject to conveyor capacity and available process time.
